Worship

Processional

  Worship Times

Sunday worship at Central Reformed Church is at 9:30 AM.Special worship services are offered on Maundy Thursday (7:00 PM), Thanksgiving Eve (7:00 PM), and Christmas Eve (4:00 and 11:00 PM).

Worship at Central Reformed Church is rich and authentic. Clergy and choir are robed. Worship customarily begins with a processional - Acolytes, Cross Bearer, Bible Bearer, Choir, Clergy - and concludes with a recessional. Central’s pipe organ, one of the finest in the Midwest leads the congregation as they sing hymns to God. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month alternating between passing the elements and intinction and is open to all believers. Baptism - infant and adult - is done on request, usually on the fourth Sunday of the month. Weddings are performed upon request. Preaching is a priority at Central. We strive to offer preaching that is biblically solid, imaginatively conceived, passionately delivered, and crackling with relevance. On those occasions when our Pastoral Leader, Dr. Lotz, cannot be present, we strive to bring to our pulpit the finest preachers in the area. Guest preachers at Central have included theologian and author Frederick Buechner, Thomas Long, Professor of Preaching at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Dr. David Bast, President of Words of Hope,  Dr. Bonnie Thurston of and Rev. Dr. Laura Smit, Calvin College.
