The Journey

The Journey is Central’s name for the catechism class for our youth. The Journey partners youth, usually 9th graders, with an elder and walks the youth through a study of the gospel, some of the historical Reformed documents of belief and the history of both Central Reformed Church and the Reformed Church in America. Youth who choose to participate in this class with meet during Sunday Education Hour for 14 weeks. Open dialogue, asking questions and faith nurturing are an important part of this process. The Journey also includes a service project, fellowship time with the group and the writing of a personal creed. In the spring of 2008, Journey candidates are offered the opportunity to meet with the Board of Elders and to make their public profession of faith before the congregation during a morning worship service. Please contact Carol Austin for more information.
