The Journey
The Journey is Central’s name for the catechism class for our youth. The Journey partners youth, usually 9th graders, with an elder and walks the youth through a study of the gospel, some of the historical Reformed documents of belief and the history of both Central Reformed Church and the Reformed Church in America. All of these topics are covered during a single weekend retreat, where we encourage open dialogue, asking questions and processing one’s faith, and during which each student will write a personal creed. The Journey also includes a service project and copious fellowship time with other students. Journey candidates must meet with the Board of Elders and are invited to make their public profession of faith before the congregation during a morning worship service. Please contact Todd Eckstein for more information.
