We could not have KiDZ programming at Central Reformed Church without a wonderful army of adult and youth volunteers.  Fill out a volunteer card in the Atrium today and return it to a member of the Children’s Ministry Team  (the ones holding the balloons).   Help the youngest members of our congregation throughout their 2012–2013 program year by volunteering and take home a balloon as a thank you from the Children’s Ministry Team.

A KiDZ Stuff RUMMAGE SALE fund raiser is scheduled for June 15 and 16.  Shop in our lovely Atrium for KiDZ Clothes, games, furniture, sports equipment and much, much more.  If you have LARGE items, collectibles, or antiques to donate for the sale, please contact Rick Overway at 785-7017.  Rick will be posting the more valuable items online prior to the sale.

The Bach Chorale of Grand Rapids will present its Spring 2012 concert on Sunday, April 29, at 7:30PM, at Central Reformed Church in downtown Grand Rapids. In terms of its format, this concert will be similar to those which the Bach Chorale typically produces during the biennial Grand Rapids Bach Festival: there will be fine selections of choral music, a major orchestral work (involving a chamber orchestra of Grand Rapids musicians), and a couple of pieces combining the Bach Chorale and the orchestra.

Praise God!  Jesus has risen from the dead!  Celebrate by Worshipping in our beautiful sanctuary on Easter Sunday Morning beginning at 9:30 am.   Special instrumentalists, special anthems, special sermon and special people.  All are WELCOME!

If you are in fourth fifth or sixth grade or friend or family of a child in fourth, fifth or sixth grade you are invited to join us for an evening of radical rollar skating.  Sign-up your party at the KiDZ Kart.  Meet at church on Sunday at 4:30 PM.  Drivers will be needed to carpool from church and back.  Participants should each bring $5.00 for food.

Join your faith friends for two hours of “Radical Rollar Skating”.  We will carpool from church at 2:00 PM and return to church at 4:30 PM.  Our destination is the Kentwood Fun Spot 14 52nd St. SE, in Kentwood.  You may meet us there if you like.  Bring friends and $5.00 for food.

A Bake Sale will be held in the Atrium on Sunday morning after worship.  Monies from the sale will be used to purchase educational toys for the two’s and three’s nursery.

Fourth, fifth and sixth graders are invited to an afternoon at a Lake Michigan beach.  Place and time TBA.  We will carpool from church after morning worship.  Bring your bathing suits and towels with you to church on Sunday morning.

If you are in fourth, fifth or sixth grade join us for movie night at the Celebration Cinema.  Bring $5.00 for snacks.  Movie and time TBA.

Enjoy a collection of KiDZ ART on display in and below our Atrium before and after church.  The pieces have been collected from the children’s responses to their lessons from the 2011/2012  Sunday School year.

Come to our KiDZ Spring Musical that teaches us about who we are in Christ.  Peter Cotton’s Tale is an exciting 30 minute musical about Peter who has a great heart but sometimes makes wrong decisions.  It is a tale that focuses on the sacrifices and commitment that Christ has made for all and the forgiveness He still gives each of us today.  The performance is free.  It is on Fellowship Stage in Fellowship Hall and begins immediately following the worship service.  A light Mother’s Day picnic buffet will follow the performance downstairs in Fellowship Hall.  Happy Mother’s Day!!!

KiDZ of all ages and families are invited to join the traditional Palm Sunday Processional in our beautiful sanctuary on the morning of April 1.  There is no better way to begin a Palm Sunday service than a procession that uses adults and children.  The procession is a celebration of Jesus entry into Jerusalem with the joyful ringing sounds of “HOSANNA”!

A colorful, short and appropriate drama by KiDZ announcing the upcoming joyful entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.  Imagine yourself in the crowd with others as Christ comes by.  Not only are there shouts of praise, but also individual cries and questions from those who were seeing Jesus for the first time.

Call time for participants is 8:30 AM.  Service starts at 9:30 AM.

Fourth, fifth and sixth graders this one is for you and your friends.  Meet at church and get some fun face time with your friends from all different school districts.  We’ll need a couple of parent chaperones.  Drivers will bring kidz home to their front doorstep after this event.  We’ll get pizza and drinks at the alley.  The address is AMF Bowling Center 3500 Eastbrook Lanes Blvd. Grand Rapids, if you want to meet us there.  Bring $5.00 for food.  Please sign-up at the KiDZ Kart in the Atrium at church.

Learn about Michigan Camp offerings for your KiDZ this summer.  Understand how our POST SCHOLARSHIP fund works at Central and talk with representatives from Cran Hill, Camp Geneva, SpringHill and Grace Youth Camps.  There will be a question and answer session beginning at 11:00 am.  Forms will be available for all of our camp options.  Get your church friends together and go to camp!!!

Join KiDZ Central Friends at Gymco for an evening of jumping fun and gymnastics.  Four year olds through sixth graders friends and family are welcome.  Parents may drop off their KiDZ or stay and play.  The address is  2306 Camelot Ridge Court SE off East Paris near 28th Street.  Parents must  sign a waiver for your child(ren).  A lite snack will be served.  Co-pay of $5.00 per child.  Thank you!

YOUTH AUCTION 2012 – To benefit Central’s senior high mission trip to Succotz, a small village near the western border of Belize, this June.  Join us at Custer Office Interiors (217 Grandville Ave SW, Downtown Grand Rapids) from 6:00-10:00PM on March 3rd, where you will enjoy a plenty of delicious Latin-American finger foods and refreshments, while you browse silent auction items and socialize.  Then stick around for our live auction, MC-ed by local-celebrity-auctioneer, Miranda!  It will be the most riotously FUN investment of both finances AND time you will make all year!  COME, and help us bridge the monetary gap, so that our team of students can go bridge the relational and spiritual gaps of this experience…and all in the Name of our God!

Drop your kidz off at church Saturday, at 9:30 AM for daycare and lunch, then get to know other nursery moms during some  “mommy pampering”.  Moms will return to church by 1:00 PM.  For more information or to RSVP please call Children’s Ministry Team member Kristen Borgman 791-4177.

Fourth, fifth, sixth graders, friends and family should meet at the church at 4:30 PM to car pool a short distance to the Pando Sledding area just north of town.  Wear warm clothes and bring $5.00 for a stop at fast food.  We will return to church at 7:00 PM.  In the event that there is no snow, we will see a movie.  Please RSVP by signing up at the KiDZ Welcome Kart in the Atrium or call Mrs. Timmer 285.9137 so that we will have enough car space.

Families and Friends are invited to come to Wealthy Pool at 1961 Lake Drive in East Grand Rapids from 4:00–6:00 pm.  Supper of pizza, beverages and finger foods will be served in the activities room.  The Wealthy Pool which is kept at 80 degrees has a life guard on duty as well as many water toys.  It is suitable for swimmers and floaters.  Showers and changing rooms are on site.  Parents may either stay and play or drop off  their children and return.

Joyful Noise KiDZ Khorus will participate in the morning worship service and host refreshments in the Atrium.  All age KiDZ are welcome to sing.  Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings between 10:45–11:15 in the Garden of Eden Room and Wednesdays during Theater Kidz from 5–5:30 pm in Fellowship Hall.

Don a robe at 9:00 am and join us for warm-ups in the sanctuary.

Welcome Home! 

Join us for our classic worship service.  Nursery care is provided for infants through three years old.  Christmas centers are provided for children prekindergarten through second grade during worship in the Garden of Eden room downstairs.

This family oriented worship service begins at 4 pm and lasts about 45 minutes.  Carols are sung, the Bible is read and walk-on participation of children is welcome but not necessary.  (Live animals will be used in this service.)

A musically upbeat play presented on Fellowship Stage in Fellowship Hall by the talented children of Central Reformed Church who participate in                Joyful Noise KiDZ Chorus, Theater KiDZ, and You-Can-Do-It-ArtZ.  This Christmas Play will excite and delight an audience of all ages.  The performance is FREE.

An outdoor live Nativity begins at 3:00 pm with camel, donkey, sheep, costuming and children as participants.  Enjoy refresments, carolers and the JOyful Juggler indoors.  At 4:00 pm participate in the Family candlelit service: “Through the Eyes of a Child”.  Public Welcome.

Lunch of traditional foods, music, story telling, wooden shoe decorating, carriage rides, crafts and a special visit from St. Nichloas.  RSVP the number in your group by calling the church office 456-1773.

Make a donation to our VBS fund for a day of childcare.  Your kidz will enjoy Christmas shoe box filling for charity, fun with friends, movies and gift wrapping.  Sign-up with Mrs. Timmer or at the KiDZ Kiosk in the Atrium.

Sunday, October 30, come to church dressed as your favorite Bible character such as Sampson the strong man or David the shepherd boy.  There will be pumpkins to decorate and take home for display just in time for halloween.

UPSIDE DOWN 2011 4th-6th Grade JUNIORS’ RETREAT.  Don’t miss this amazing weekend!  This year at Juniors’, we’ll focus on the concepts in Philippians 2:5-11 and Mark 10:45, and explore the example of Christ and his upside down Kingdom through age appropriate teaching, fun interactive content, times for small group processing, and high energy praise and worship.
