Equally at home in classical repertoire and pops, coloratura soprano Diane Penning has performed with orchestras around the country in both genres. She has sung opera, oratorio, and show tunes as well as sacred music with the Adrian, Arkansas, Battle Creek, Bijou and Colorado Symphonies; the Dayton Philharmonic; the Dearborn, DuPage, Elgin, Elmhurst, Grand Rapids and Grant Park Festival Symphonies; the Interlochen Arts Academy and Kalamazoo, Lafayette, Lansing, Midland, Pensacola, Park Ridge, Rockford, Saginaw Bay, Sheboygan, South Bend, Southwest Michigan, Traverse City and the West Shore Symphonies. Ms. Penning studied at the University of Michigan where she obtained a Bachelor of Music degree and Western Michigan University where she earned a Masters degree in Voice Performance.
Pianist/Composer Nicholas Palmer
Nicholas Palmer is a Grand Rapids composer, keyboardist and choir conductor serving the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. He has served as a church musician in Catholic, Lutheran and Presbyterian churches since his grade school years, received his B.A. and M.A. in composition from the University of Chicago and continues to work and write for church congregations and choirs. Nicholas accompanies the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus and has the good fortune to play with Grand Rapids Symphony and with individual players of that group on the stage and in recital. His compositions are heard on the concert stage, in PBS documentaries and even in a couple of obscure video games.

John E. Hamersma, DSM
Professor of music, Organist/Choirmaster and Director of Music at church, performer, composer and author: Dr. Hamersma has done it all. Currently Professor of Music Emeritus at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. he was on staff for 50 years, 12 of them as Chairman of the Music Department. Dr. Hamersma has been the Director of Music at Grace Episcopal Church, Grand Rapids, MI. since 1975; prior to that he served churches in New York City and Germany as well.
Elizabeth Claar, DMA
Dr. Elizabeth Claar combines church work, teaching and performance in a multi-faceted career. She is currently serving as Organist at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, she teaches organ and piano to
students of all ages, she teaches organ at Cornerstone University and Music Theory at Hope College.
ENSEMBLE MONTAGE

Ensemble Montage is a collective of eleven professional musicians based in grand Rapids dedicated to presenting kaleidoscopic combinations of chamber music ranging from baroque trio sonata to music written by group member-composer Alexander Miller. Formed in 1997, the group specializes in repertoire which blends strings, woodwinds, piano and optional percussion as well. The group expands and contract as the program’s repertoire demands. They have added a trumpet, a vocalist, and extra viola, an army of overdubbed clarinets, and, on occasion, even an accordion or banjo.
