Giving to Give Back

The generosity of our church community is relied on to perpetuate the mission of Central Reformed Church: To connect all people to God and to one another through scripture, sacrament, song, and service. Together, we give so that we can give back, helping those in our congregation and community grow in Christ and experience the love, joy, and compassion that comes from knowing and following Jesus.

Special Offerings & Giving Opportunities

Ingathering Sunday:
November 17, 2024

We collect personal care items for Addie’s Pantry. These items are not available from Feeding America West Michigan and must be purchased on behalf of our pantry clients, including bar soap, body wash, children’s diapers, wet wipes, deodorant, feminine care items, shampoo, razors, shaving cream, toilet paper, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. During worship, we bring our gifts forward and place them on the chancel in front of the communion table.

Coats & Blankets Drive: November & December

Each winter, we collect coats, mittens, hats, and blankets that are donated to the local homeless shelters and families in need in our community. There will be a collection area in the atrium where you can drop off your donations.

Additional Offerings:

Each year, Central Reformed has a Thanksgiving Offering and a Lenten Offering, each blessing an ecumenical ministry partner that is carefully selected by our Christian Action Team (CAT). Representatives from these organizations join us for Sunday worship and offer a Moment for Mission. At that time, we hear about the exciting things God is doing through their ministry and how our gifts will be used.

On Mother’s Day Sunday, also called “Undie Sunday,” we collect new underwear for the underserved in our community. Like food and water, this basic necessity is often overlooked.

In all of our giving, we remember the words of our Lord, as recorded in the Book of Acts, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (20:35).
