Seeking to Serve as Christ Did

Just as Jesus himself did, we aim to serve our brothers and sisters from all walks of life—the poor, the sinners, the neglected, the lost sheep. Everyone is deserving of God’s love, and our time is never wasted when we are serving in His name. For almost two centuries, we have mobilized volunteers from our congregation to help where and when it is needed. From fighting hunger to helping at-risk people to educating and mentoring, our ministry extends from our immediate community to around the world.

Feeding the Hungry

Addie’s Pantry

Our oldest local ministry, Addie’s Pantry, is our on-site food pantry that serves our neighbors once a week on Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Our pantry provides groceries, personal care items, and many other things. The pantry was named in honor of Addie Timmer, a Central Reformed Church member who had a passion for volunteering and caring for her neighbors.

Faye’s Diner

Established in 2005, Faye’s Diner has become a gathering place for families and individuals in our community seeking a warm meal and healthy fellowship. Staffed by church volunteers, Faye’s Diner provides warm meals prepared in our kitchen and served in our meeting hall to anyone in need on the third Tuesday of every month, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Faye’s Diner is named for Faye Myers, who started the diner and was its co-director for 15 years until her retirement in 2020.

Acting As God’s Hands and Feet

Christian Action Team (CAT)

Our Christian Actions Team’s mission is to mobilize and equip the members of Central Reformed Church for acts of mission and mercy in our community and around the world. CAT manages Central’s discretionary fund, overseeing our service ministries, including Addie’s Pantry and Faye’s Diner, our global mission outreach, and partnerships with local agencies, including In the Image and Servants Community Church.
